Interesting map showing – roughly – where people move from when coming to Spokane and where they go when moving out.

Just about equal numbers move between Spokane and Seattle in both directions with about 10% to 15% more headed in the Seattle direction.

Without specific data, you have to squint to see some patterns. One strong pattern is that a lot of people move from Southern California to Spokane – and no one moves back to Southern California.

Migration between Spokane and the San Francisco Bay area/Sacramento area is both ways. Outbound migration to the east is mostly to some specific areas in the south or the east coast. That’s interesting.
